Summer of tragedy

The summer of 2011 has brought tragedy to our beloved game like no other.
First the untimely deaths of three young enforcers: Boogaard, Rypien and Belak, and today the horrifying plane crash involving Lokomotiv of the KHL that wiped out the entire team including former NHLers: Pavol Demitra, Ruslan Salei, Karel Rachunek and Brad MacCrimmon. My heart goes out to their families in this horrible time of shock and mourning.
It brings everything into perspective for me, and makes me think about what is truely important in my life: family and friends. I hugged my kids a little tighter today.
